Members of staff on a Marina on the Bosphorus

Member of teaching staff attended the XXIV International Symposium on Morphological Sciences symposium at the University of Istanbul, Istanbul Turkey from 2nd to 6th July 2015. Participants were drawn from all the five continents. Africa was represented by Kenyan, Nigerian and South African participants.

There were poster and oral presentations in three plenary sessions. Interesting topics included, Anatomy of the Radial Grooves for the first extensor compartment of the wrist on 3D Reconstructed CT images. the surgical anatomy of left triangular ligament and ‘Fibrous Appendix’ of the liver by Petros Mirilas, Pre ad Para proliferative features of ductular reaction following Biliary obstruction by Dimitri Kordzaia and Ultrastructural Neropathology in Transgenic Models of Alzheimers Disease by Alev Erisir.

During the retreat, members of staff had several meeting to appraise the previous academic year and strategise on the approach to the upcoming academic year. In attendance were Prof. Hassan Saidi, Prof. Peter Gichangi, Prof Adel Malek, Dr. Paul Odula, Dr. Wycliff Kaisha, Dr. Pamela Mandela, Dr. Moses Obimbo, Dr. Benard Ndung'u, Dr. Kevin Ongeti, Dr. William Kigera, Dr. Beda Olabu, Dr. Anne Pulei, Dr. Phillip Maseghe and Dr. Martin Kamau.
