Prof Saidi follows the proceedings of the meeting

Prof Hassan Saidi and Dr James Kigera attended the 2017 meeting of the African Journal Partnership Program from the 19th to 25th of May 2017. They are the Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editor of the Annals of African Surgery (AAS), the premier surgical journal in Africa that is published by the Surgical Society of Kenya.

The meeting started with intensive 2 day short courses where participants were trained on various aspects of journal management including journal metrics, indexing, article processing and ethical issues in publishing. This was followed by the 60th meeting of the Council of Science Editors where participants from all over the world deliberated on various issues affecting editorial work. The last two days were spent on the annual meeting of the African Journal Partnership Program where Dr Kigera presented on the success of the AAS in the preceding 12 months.
