MORTUARY SCIENCE STUDENTS SEPTEMBER ,2021 TO DECEMCEMBER,2021 SERIES ON PRACTICAL ROTATION AT CHIROMO FUNERAL PALOR

Mortuary science course is a departmental  training initiave conducted by Technical staff under the leadership of the department OF Human Anatomy and Physiology chairman Prof.  Moses Madadi Obimbo.

Mortuary scienceis the biological and scientific study that deals with collections,preservation and annalysis of scientific evidence to unravel  crime on the dead body. During the rotational programmes, the chiromo mortuary science student are made to learn various skill and knowlegde that will enable them to coupe up in their future work environment.  These students are made to know that even the dead have their own rights and liberty ie no one is allowed tom remove any organ or body part from any dead body. Students are also trained on how to dael with different berieved clients on how to respond to their questions, guidence and councelling and carrying out basic first aids to clients.

Within the Chiromo Funeral Palour and Kenyatta National Hospital Funeral Home,  the students are trained on the front office skills eg, documentations, body receiving procedures, body viewing, dressing, grooming and dispatch of the dead.

The rotational programme takes at least one week in every section and location that runs for two months.  These students will be required to go through Kenyatta National Hospital Funeral Home to acquire additional skills before sitting for their final test at the end of the programme.
